Gifts from your Workbasket

Before we leave November completely behind, I want to show you these articles from the November 1942 and 1943 issues of Woman’s Day. “Gifts from your Workbasket” was an annual feature that gave home front housewives gift ideas that they could make for friends and family. The war years were definitely a time to be frugal and making gifts was a great way to save money while still providing personalized presents for those on your list. By including these features in the November issues, it allowed women time to send away for the patterns for items to be completed by Christmas.
