Celebrating Five Years of History in the Kitchen!

What better way to celebrate five years of History in the Kitchen than by putting up a new roundup of my favorites after a long absence. Life has a way of getting really busy, and before you know it, weeks have flown by. This blog is entirely for fun and is based off of some of my research. I’d like to try to keep to a better schedule for the rest of the year. I have lots of recipes to share. I want to talk more about the WWII Homefront kitchen and the homes people lived in. I’d like to talk about chores and pastimes and everything our Home Front Housewife and her neighbors dealt with on a daily basis. I hope you join me for year six!

Favorites from year five:

Drop Cookies

Blackeye Beans, Southern Style, 1942

Looking back over the last year, I noticed that I had fewer food posts than posts without food. I want to try to create more of a balance between the two. I’ve missed cooking what my family calls “blog food” and I’m ready to get back at it. I’d love to hear any topic requests you might have, as well.

Just in case you are curious about revisiting my favorites from the past, you can start at any one of these posts. Thanks for sticking with me through the past five years!

    1. Thank you! I sure appreciate you being here. I have some fun things I want to write about and some recipes I want to try out, so I’m excited to get back at it this month.
