First Monday Menu: December 1941

Can you believe that it’s already time for December’s edition of First Monday Menu?

This month, I am going to share more than one menu with recipes. Today’s menu comes from the December 1941 edition of The American Home. The menu is for a Christmas Eve family supper party complete with individual tree decorations and small, inexpensive gifts. If you scroll down, you’ll find the recipes and instructions for making the table-top trees.

Note the caption under the image: Steubenville Pottery dishes and Cambridge glassware from B. Altman and Co., Oneida flatware, and a I. Freeman and Son candelabra

The recipes are on the front and back of a page so the home front housewife could clip them out and use them as recipe cards.
