It’s been a long couple weeks and I am sorry that I haven’t posted in quite a few days. Isn’t it funny that everything always happens at once? I think things have calmed down a bit, and today we were back in the kitchen.
These date squares come from the Culinary Arts Institute’s 1941 edition of The Cookie Book.
These were dry, but tasty. They were really crumbly and broke apart easily as I was cutting them into squares. Everyone who tried them liked them, though. The amount of dates and nuts was perfect for the recipe—often I think there are too many. I think these squares would be terrific with ice cream!
